Dear Fellow Tailhookers and Friends of Naval Aviation: Please see the note below concerning our “group invitation” to join next Monday evening’s “Military Open House” at the University Club…which is a wonderful venue on the 34th floor of the Symphony Towers downtown…and which offers one of the very best “sundown views” in all of San Diego!
Please RSVP to our host, CDR Dan “Taco” Garcia, USN at
Daniel.firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
Our next Military Network event at the University Club will be at 1730 onMonday, 26Aug ---see this link .
We will network for approximately 30 minutes before CDR Keith Dowling, CO of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit ELEVEN will discuss how your local San Diego Navy is "defusing danger" around the world.
If you are a member, please contact the Club and let them know you'll be attending.
If you're not a member, please let CDR Garcia know by COB Thursday, 22Aug if you are able to attend and he'll put you on the RSVP list. There is no cost for this event, but bring a credit card if you plan to purchase drinks and food as the University Club does not take cash.
If you are active duty or reserves, I encourage you to wear your uniform (khaki or equivalent). Otherwise, dress is "business casual," (blazer, slacks; tie not required), though you'll likely see some in business suits, and may see a few others in jeans.
The University Club ( http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/University-Club-atop-Symphony-Towers )is atop (34th floor) the Copley Hall Symphony Towers at 750 B St. (enter from the corner of the building at the intersection of 8th and B) in downtown San Diego.
Valet parking is available (but expensive) at the corner in which you enter the building. Your best bet is to use one of the two outdoor parking lots (Ace or 5-Star - approx $10) at the corner of 8th and B. If you're lucky, you'll find street parking nearby (meter required only until 6:00 pm).
