This is a reminder of the upcoming Gillespie Pilots Association Meeting and will be held at the Gillespie Field Administration/Terminal Building, 1960 Joe Crosson Drive, El Cajon.
Following the GPA meeting at 10:30 a.m., we will be flying kids through our EAA Young Eagles Program. We expect to have about 15 kids flying this month. If you are a pilot, and able to fly some kids, please reply to this email. Thank you in advance for volunteering for this important event!
As always, free coffee and Mary’s Donuts will be served at our meeting. We hope you can make it to this important meeting!
Gillespie Pilots Association
GPA's general membership meetings are typically held the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in the Gillespie Field Administration Building, 1960 Joe Crosson Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020. Refreshments are provided, and meetings usually last about an hour (though hangar talk can go on indefinitely afterwards).
Our general meetings are a good place for you to get to know your fellow Gillespie pilots and to find out what's going on at your airport.

The EAA Ford
Tri-Motor is coming to Gillespie Field!
February 26 - March 1st 2015
Flights Available Every Day
2:00 PM - 5:00PM
Experience the golden age of aviation and take a flight in EAA’s immaculate 1929 Ford Tri-Motor, giving passengers an opportunity to travel back to the early days of commercial flight.
Affectionately dubbed the “Tin Goose” after its distinct all-metal look, the Ford Tri-Motor is commonly known as the first mass-produced airliner from aviation’s formative years. A flight on EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor is a flight back to an era where air travel was considered a luxury.

WE MOTIVATE STUDENTS: Air Group One A-STEM
NATIONAL GOAL: To positively influence the imaginations, and career ambitions of America’s young people, A-STEM focuses on engaging and retaining students to encourage their pursuit of educational disciplines critical to America’s future engineering, scientific, and technical missions.
A-STEM is a youth education and motivation program with scheduled sequential topics. Subjects include Aerodynamics, Aerospace Materials, and Space Operations. Students groups are divided into escorted smaller groups that rotate through several learning stations with experienced aerospace instructors and technicians discussing aerodynamics, propulsion, aerospace materials, space operations, communications, and aerospace careers. Students are in direct contact with real aircraft and equipment, with the assistance of qualified pilots/instructors and engineers from various industries, such as GKN Aerospace in El Cajon, California.
The program is organized and executed by Air Group One, and is a synergistic effort by many in the aerospace community of San Diego County. Volunteers from many different specialties have organized for the sake of our nation’s youth, particularly in San Diego and East San Diego County.
Please note: This 9AM-3PM event takes place at Gillespie Field, El Cajon for up to 40 attendees (teachers, parents & chaperons NOT included). To sign up, please contact John Telles (760)458-4230 or email@example.com
